Successful organization of the Innovation in Atmospheric Measurement Techniques Workshop CARE-C with the close collaboration of ACTRIS, ICOS and IAGOS

On June 2nd, 2022 CARE-C of the Cyprus Institute in collaboration with ACTRIS, ICOS and IAGOS co-hosted the 2nd Workshop on Innovation in Atmospheric Measurement Techniques.

Through a full day of sessions and talks, this workshop brought together atmospheric science communities to discuss the latest innovations in atmospheric measurement techniques. Participants had the opportunity to discuss and find out about new technologies, products, services, and instrumentation and access visibility of opportunities for R&D collaborations.

Prof Jean Sciare, Director of CARE-C and Coordinator of EMME-CARE gave the welcoming speech of the workshop, which was followed by nearly 40 presentations, given by representatives of Universities, research Institutions and private compagnies, reporting on the main innovations and recent technical developments in Atmospheric Measurement Techniques, modelling, data products and International Flagship R&I initiatives.

The Workshop gathered over 300 participants from 30 countries, and created a unique platform for networking and knowledge-exchange between key contacts from academia, private companies, the public sector and NGOs.

About the Organizers

The workshop was hosted by three EU RIs working in the Atmospheric Measurements remit, ACTRIS, ICOS and IAGOS, together with the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (EMME-CARE) within the framework of the EU Green Week. It was organized by the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) of the Cyprus Institute with the support of the University of Helsinki, the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz (MPIC), the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
