Visit of Patricio Ortiz de la Torre, Head of Sector-Operational (European Research Executive Agency) at CARE-C facilities

The Head of the Operational/Project Management Sector (REA C3 – ‘Widening Participation’) at the European Research Executive Agency (REA), established by the European Commission (EC), Mr. Patricio Ortiz de la Torre, visited the Cyprus Institute premises in Athalassa campus, including the CARE-C facilities, on Wednesday, 11 October, 2023.

During the meeting, CARE-C director Prof. Jean Sciare presented the progress of the EMME-CARE and Edu4ClimAte projects, coordinated by CARE-C of the Cyprus Institute, and other colleagues from different centres also presented the progress of their widening participation projects.

Mr. Ortiz de la Torre also had the opportunity to take a guided tour of selected CyI facilities, including the CARE-C exhibition hall and research infrastructures, namely the Instrumentation Lab (INL), the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL) as well as the High-Performance Computing (HPC) facility.
