Strong participation of CARE-C researchers at the European Meteorological Society (EMS) Annual Meeting in Barcelona
A group of CARE-C researchers of the Cyprus Institute delivered presentations on their recent research outputs, some of which also received awards for, at the European Meteorological Society (EMS) Annual Meeting 2024, that was held at the University of Barcelona, in Barcelona, Spain from 2 to 6 September 2024.
Additionally, Graduate Research Fellow, Fragkeskos Kekkou was awarded with the Tromp Foundation Travel Award for young scientists. Later in the week, he also presented a more detailed version of his research at the “Weather and Well-being: Communicating Biometeorological Knowledge for Public Health” workshop. Giandomenico Vurro’s work also awarded with the EMS Young Scientist Conference Award.
This event brought together scientists from various fields to explore the impact of weather on human health, productivity, and climate change adaptation, as well as strategies for effectively communicating biometeorological information to the public.
