Prof Philippe Ciais Named World’s No.1 Environmental Scientist

CARE-C is proud to announce that Prof Philippe Ciais has been ranked Number 1 Environmental Scientist worldwide by Research.com, in its latest global ranking of leading researchers.

Prof Ciais is a faculty member at The Cyprus Institute’s Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C), and an Advanced Partner PI of the EMME-CARE project as a senior scientist at CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives).

This top global ranking recognises his outstanding scientific contributions to climate and environmental research, including in the fields of global and planetary change, atmospheric science, ecology, environmental engineering, and nature and landscape conservation. Prof Ciais’ work covers a range of interrelated subfields and main topics relevant to understanding Earth’s environmental systems.

The Research.com ranking is based on rigorous bibliometric indicators, including publication output, citation impact, and scientific influence within the environmental sciences community. Achieving the top position globally underscores Prof Ciais’ long-standing recognition in the field and the international relevance of his work.
