Prof. Franco Marenco, Associate Professor at CARE-C of The Cyprus Institute, participates at the Ninth International Conference on Remote Sensing and Geo-information of Environment
The Ninth International Conference on Remote Sensing and Geo-information of Environment was held on the 3rd to the 5th of April, 2023 in Agia Napa, Cyprus aiming at bringing together the Cypriot and International communities in the field of remote sensing. The opening session was marked by the speech of the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the European Space Agency and the space agencies of Israel and Egypt. Prof. Franco Marenco, Associate Professor at CARE-C of The Cyprus Institute, participated actively at the Conference by delivering two talks at the Atmospheric Observations session.
The scientific sessions of the Conference, were held in parallel and covered a variety of topics such as: the science of Earth Observations, Satellites, forest fires, agriculture, water resources, natural hazards, the Environment, Geographic Information System, resilient society, atmospheric observations, and UAVs. During the Atmospheric Session, Prof. Marenco, delivered two talks, one presenting the CyI remote sensing activities within the framework of CARE-C, and the second on the lidar characterisation using a reference system.
Additionally, within the framework of the Conference, a meeting was held between the two Centres of Excellence, CARE-C and ERATOSTHENES in order to discuss the activities between the two Centres under the Memorandum of Understanding.
