EU Representatives Visit The Cyprus Institute in the context of Cyprus’ EU Council Presidency
On 16 April 2026, the Permanent Representatives of Member States to the European Union for matters of Research and Innovation, visited the Cyprus Institute.. The visit was organized in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the aim of showcasing the national ecosystem of research, innovation, and technology.
The visit was prefaced by a presentation by CyI President Prof Stavros Malas, which introduced the Ιnstitute’s innovative activities and inputs in matters of regional significance. Following that, the delegation was introduced to the work of the Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C), with a presentation delivered by its Director Prof Jean Sciare highlighting the Centre’s research activities and its contribution to addressing environmental challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.
The programme included presentations on the Institute’s research and innovation activities, followed by a tour of its facilities, showcasing Cyprus’ growing role in European research collaboration and scientific excellence.
