CARE-C’s Andri Charalambous contribution to the Emerald Handbook of Research Management and Administration
The Scientific Coordinator of CARE-C of the Cyprus Institute, Mrs Andri Charalambous, has contributed to the recent Emerald Insight publication entitled ‘Emerald Handbook of Research Management and Administration Around the World’.
More specifically, Mrs Charalambous co-authored the chapter about research management and administration in Cyprus, which, in brief, describes the current research ecosystem and the Research and Management and Administration (RMA) profession in Cyprus and suggests further recommendations on how to increase standardisation, professionalisation and ultimately, recognition of the RMA profession locally.
The ‘Emerald Handbook of Research Management and Administration Around the World’ was developed in order to explore the profession of research managers and administrators (RMA), as it has become more and more popular with the increasing number of complex, interdisciplinary projects that bring together large teams of researchers from different countries.
The handbook includes observations from across the world, and across different disciplines. 127 authors contributed their observations from over 50 countries and across 7 regions: Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Australasia, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and the Middle East.
This publication can be particularly useful to individuals who are considering a potential career in RMA occupations, and it can also benefit policy makers who are working on developing policy to support research. Finally, it promotes the visibility and recognition of RMA.
You can find the handbook on its entirety here and you can read the chapter about Cyprus here.
