CARE-C scientist presented at the Pancyprian Conference: “Is Climate Change a threat to Tourism?”

A CARE-C research scientist presented at the recent Pancyprian conference focusing on climate change and tourism, entitled “Is Climate Change a threat to Tourism?”. The event was organised by the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI) and took place on 19 October, 2023 in Nicosia.

Dr George Zittis, an Associate Research Scientist at CARE-C of the Cyprus Institute, was invited to present at the conference and his presentation focused on ‘Climate Change in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean’.

The aim of the conference was to raise awareness amongst tourism industry stakeholders and governmental bodies dealing with sustainability and climate change issues, about the effects of climate change on tourism.
