CARE-C participation at the 2024 ICOS Conference
A number of researchers of CARE-C at the Cyprus Institute actively participated in the 2024 Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) conference, which took place on 10-12.9.24, at Versailles Palais des Congrès, in Versailles, France and online.
Firstly, the Director of CARE-C Prof Jean Sciare and CARE-C senior affiliate Dr Jean-Daniel Paris co-chaired session 9 on “Cross-domain tech development” and session 20 on “Enhancing the ocean C-sink”.
Additionally, Graduate Research Assistant, Ms Roubina Papakonstantinou, presented a poster on “Advancements in Detection and Quantification Techniques of Methane Emissions at site level using UAV” and Technical Research Specialist, Mr Pierre-Yves Quehe presented a poster on “ Cyprus Atmospheric Observatory: Insights into Greenhouse Gas Monitoring in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East” .
Finally, Prof Philippe Ciais presented a session on “Low latency carbon budget analysis reveals a large decline of the land carbon sink in 2023”.
The ICOS Science Conference gathers greenhouse gas researchers from around the globe who share their knowledge and expertise. As in past years, one of the conference’s key objectives is to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
