The 2nd General Assembly Meeting of MARKOPOLO successfully concluded

The 2nd General Assembly of the MARKOPOLO European project was hosted by CARE-C of the Cyprus Institute on 18-19 March 2026 at the Cyprus Institute’s premises in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The meeting opened with a warm welcome from Scientific Coordinator Andreas Daiber and local host Jos Lelieveld at The Cyprus Institute. Over two days, participants engaged in a hybrid format to review the latest research findings, discuss key project developments, and refine strategic priorities in the search for Markers of Pollution (MARKOPOLO).

The first day focused on scientific presentations and discussions on the main work packages, as well as data integration and policy relevance. The second day was dedicated to dissemination, outreach and training activities. Additionally, the consortium reviewed progress within the ExpoHealthNet Cluster, highlighting future synergies and collaboration.

Finally, the Scientific Advisory Board provided strategic input at the end of the two-day meeting, offering critical guidance to refine priorities and maximise the project’s scientific and societal impact in its next phase.
