PhD student Fragkeskos Kekkou receives Excellent Paper Award in the 2026 Tromp Scientific Awards

CARE-C is excited to announce that PhD student Fragkeskos Kekkou has received the 3rd Excellent Paper Award of the 2026 Tromp Scientific Awards for his paper on “Temperature extremes and human health in Cyprus: Investigating the impact of heat and cold waves”.

The International Society of Biometeorology presents the Tromp Scientific Award to scientists who have developed the most meaningful peer-reviewed manuscripts over the past three years prior to each International Congress. The Tromp Scientific Award is sponsored by the Dutch Foundation for Biometeorological Research and awarded by the International Society of Biometeorology (est. 1956).

CARE-C extends its warmest congratulations to Fragkeskos for receiving this award. This achievement reflects on the quality of education provided at The Cyprus Institute and highlights the impact and quality of work of its students and faculty.
